BBC Two - Dara O'Briain's Science Club
In late November we were asked by the BBC to perform on a special music-themed episode of Dara O'Briain's Science Club. Instead of using our prepared pieces, we had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with the production team in writing special lyrics to a well-known tune which are both funny and entertaining...honestly!
In early November we performed with the Secret Cinema at a secret location in East London. It was all very hush hush until the publicity embargo was lifted in December. Now we can tell you all about it. The Shawshank Redemption was the film shown and the basis for an immersive theatre experience. During a pivotal moment in the story we transformed ourselves into a prison choir singing a range of beautiful, uplifting celebrant tunes in an old school chapel.
8th June - we performed at the National Museum in Cardiff at the BHA Annual Conference: Beyond Tomorrow: Visions of the Future. We played a lively set including The Vatican Rag and It’s Tough To Be A God.
17th March - AHS Conference. We performed a number of celebrant pieces alongside some covers including One Day Like This (Elbow) with a lively audience-choir participation section.
17th December - Central London Humanist Party at The Horse Bar, Waterloo.
12th December - carol singing Trafalgar Square.
11th December - singing and collecting for The Food Chain at Green Park Station.
11th December - the BHA Choir joined the Navadina choir for an evening of secular songs. Both choirs performed news songs and old favourites as well as joining forces during the evening.
18th June - Pirate Castle Boat Launch/Open Day - This was a performance at the rehearsal venue we used during autumn 2010 and spring 2011. We sang three songs, including a sea shanty, to celebrate the launch of the Pirate Castle's new boat. To find out more about the Pirate Castle visit www.thepiratecastle.org
