Ancestor's Trail is an evolution themed walk that this year took place on 29th May. The Tree of Life is represented by a number of converging walks, with each step taking you back towards the dawn of life.
The BHA Choir were delighted to be invited to perform at this year's walk. Two specially written original pieces were contributed to the Ancestor's Trail. Conductor Chloë Clifford-Frith wrote a piece called "Upon this Ground". It was sung along the Trail with the individual parts initially standing as independent pieces and combining to create new melodies as the parts converged. The final composition was performed with all parts at the end of the Trail. "Origins" was composed by ex-BHA resident composer and BHA Choir pianist William Morris, with words by Ancestor's Trail organiser Chris Jenord. The set at St Audries consisted of "Do You Realize??", "Imagine", "Sumer Is Icumen In", and "One Day Like This".
As well as performing, many of the Choir walked the Ancestor's Trail. The Quantock Hills provided a spectacular backdrop to some well-needed exercise! Photos of the event can be seen in our galleries.
