We are a friendly, non-auditioned London-based choir. Our emphasis is on enjoying music in a welcoming, non-religious environment. Our wide-ranging repertoire consists of secular music that’s joyful and fun to sing. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings, 7-9pm at Doreen Bazell Hall, a short walk from Kings Cross station. New members welcome!

Trans Day of Remembrance – 20 Nov
We'll be joining the LGBT Humanists section to remember and mourn the deaths of trans people in the UK and around the world who have been murdered this year due to transphobic violence.
People of all beliefs or none are welcome to join the ceremony on Wednesday 20th November, as we come together to reflect on how we can do more as a community and individuals to support trans people, and to share our outrage at the violence being perpetrated against trans people.
This is the second year we have taken part in this event, and as a choir we stand shoulder to shoulder with our trans friends in solidarity.

Remembrance 2019 with Defence Humanists – 9 November
Our friends the Defence Humanists have asked us to perform as part of their secular reflection on the sacrifices made in war, on Saturday 9th November.
The event, supported by the Ministry of Defence, will take place between 14:00 and 16:00 at the Royal College of Defence Studies, Seaford House, 37 Belgrave Square, London, SW1X 8NS.
It's a solemn occasion, but we are very happy to support our fellow Humanists and those of no religion in a remembrance event which is fully inclusive of those views.

New Term – 17th September
Choir starts once again on Tuesday 17th September at the trusty Doreen Bazell Hall near St Pancras station, and we have quite the term in store!
We're singing at two remembrance events for our fellow Humanist groups in November, busking for Charity in early December, and getting ready for all sorts of seasonal indulgence with our very own Christmas singalong. More events are bound to pop up too.

New songs we'll be learning include The Chain, True Colours, We Will Remember Them, Lonesome Road and Wishes - and musical director and general conducting legend Laurel assures us she has more up her sleeves.

Stavanger – what a trip!
We've just got back from our first international choir trip - and frankly, the rest of our lives are going to be a disappointment in comparison.
Huge thanks to our hosts Sangkoret Humus, the Humanist choir in Stavanger who invited us to join them in their concert celebrating their 25th anniversary - they could NOT have been better hosts.
There was singing on the top of a fjord (following an epic hike in the rain), singing next to three giant swords (also in the rain), singing at Stavanger Konserthus with Swedish legend Mikael Wiehe and Humus, taking part in Stavanger Pride, singing on a boat, and busking all over the town centre.
We've made such good friends with our fellow choir, and hope to find opportunities to link up again in the future. As Humus would say 'Oh My Something!'
Common and Kind – 27th June
We'll be hitting the stage again soon - this time as part of the house choir in the star-studded Common and Kind 2019 concert at Union Chapel, Islington, on Saturday 27th June.
As well as us, there will be performances from New York soul sensation J. Hoard, West End star and member of Leading Ladies Cassidy Janson, ENO Harewood Artist soprano Nadine Benjamin, The Beethoven Orchestra for Humanity, Bengali pop star Saida Tani, and comedian and star of BBC's The Mash Report, Nish Kumar.
We'll be part of a massed choir, featuring school partners from six London boroughs - Brent, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest - as well as singers from refugee communities in the UK.

Faiths in Tune – 31st March
Join us as we represent people without religious beliefs as part of the 8th London Faiths in Tune Festival on Sunday 31st March,
Excitingly, we'll be singing in amongst the treasures of the British Museum - you could consider us the museum's latest exhibit!
The festival's objective is to promote interfaith understanding, respect and dialogue by bringing people of all different (and no) faith backgrounds together through the universal language of music.
Our set starts at 12 noon in the Nereid Gallery, and the festival lasts all day. It's a great opportunity to hear lots of music from different cultures around the world. You might discover a new favourite.
Entrance to the festival is free, and the museum is accessible.
Springtime! Concert with The London Humanist Choir & Côr Dinas Choir
We have been invited to take part in the prestigious Brandenburg Choral Festival of London, and we're performing in a joint concert with Côr Dinas Choir on March 2nd. Laurel, our Musical Director, has created a programme of music to uplift the spirits and delight the senses on the theme of Shakespeare and Love, including works by George Shearing (Shakespeare Songs and Sonnets) and Eric Whitacre (Five Hebrew Love Songs, Seal Lullaby), plus works by Oscar Peterson, Ian Assersohn and Will Todd.
Côr Dinas Choir is London's only all-female Welsh choir. The choir is conducted by Andrew Cusworth. The programme jointly celebrates the coming of Spring and the arrival of St David's Day. We performed with this choir in 2017 in a concert at The Roundhouse and we know how good they are, so you are in for a treat.

Choir is back!
After a post-Christmas and New Year recovery period we are back rehearsing, once again under the watchful eye of our musical director Laurel. Some might call her strict - the rest of us wouldn't dare squeak.
Darwin Day 2019
Professor Richard Dawkins and Professor (and new Humanists UK President) Alice Roberts will be among the audience as we play our part in the annual Humanists UK Darwin Day lecture on 12th February.
Professor Roberts is taking over as chair of the event from Professor Dawkins, who has chaired the lecture since 2003.
2019's lecture will be the first time Professor Dawkins is put in the hot seat himself, discussing his life in science, Darwin’s legacy, and the place of humanism in the world today. Professor Dawkins will also be presented with the inaugural Humanists UK Darwin Day Medal.
The choir will be on hand to do a short set as part of the lecture.

Defence Humanists – Remembrance, A Secular Reflection
On Saturday 10th November we will be joining our fellow humanists by taking part in the Defence Humanists' secular reflection on remembrance.
We have supported this event for the last few years, and it never fails to be a moving and poignant experience, and a welcome opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made in war in an environment free of religious perspective.
The reflection will be held at the Royal College of Defence Studies, Seaford House, 37 Belgrave Square, London, SW1X 8NS.
