We are a friendly, non-auditioned London-based choir. We are part of Humanists UK, and our emphasis is on enjoying music in a welcoming, non-religious environment, helping promote the open, understanding, and secular ethos of Humanism. Our repertoire is joyful life-affirming and great fun, reflecting the central part singing has always had in human life. We're led by our inspirational Director, Alex.

Join us in 2025

Our new term starts on Tuesday, 7 January, and we look forward to singing with new joiners during this term.
We have music printed for you: the first two rehearsals are free. Doors open at 6:45 pm - Stop by the front table so we can sign you in.
We are recruiting for all voices, and the choir is open to all with no audition. We're a friendly bunch, and the singers in your section will help you get started and feel welcome.
Our term dates are:
- 7 Jan - 11 Feb
- One week off for half term.
- 25 Feb - 1 April

Trans Remembrance 2022
We were honoured to be part of the 2022 Trans Day of Remembrance ceremony organised by LGBT Humanists. In addition to singing two songs, our members read the names of Trans people lost to violence this past year to honour them. It is always a very moving tribute with a hopeful message of love and acceptance.
Hiring a new MD for January
Our Musical Director Laurel Neighbour is stepping down at the end of this year and we are looking for an new MD to lead our vibrant choir, starting January 2023. Tuesday night rehearsals and performances throughout the year. Full details here.

The London Humanist Choir’s Festive Singalong is on for 7 Dec at Signature Brew in Haggerston! This year is extra special as we say goodbye to Laurel Neighbour, our Musical Director for 10 years. We hope to see many of our alumni there to sing Laurel off with a proper LHC goodbye. And if you are thinking of joining the choir, please say hello.

Join us for our favourite bangers from the last 10 years and a few new one, too. Everyone is welcome to join in and sing along – we’ll even provide the lyrics. If it turns into a mass karaoke choir, we definitely won't mind!
Signature Brew offer their own delicious beers straight from the brewery along with specially chosen guest beers, wines and spirits and plenty of hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks. Lots there to quench your thirst after singing your socks off, and after the last 18 months we all deserve to treat ourselves a little bit. They have some fantastic pizza as well, so come early and enjoy!
Free entry, fully accessible, and everyone is welcome.

One Life 2022
Saturday July 2nd 2022, 7:30pm
The London Humanist Choir presents ONE LIFE, our annual evening of music and comedy 'in celebration of the one life we have', supported by Conway Hall. It's the climax to a year of rehearsals and performances by the UK's foremost community atheist, humanist, and secular choir.
This year, we are delighted to have comedian Maya Kolaska to compère the show. She will be introducing the choir plus special guests we are just finalising – watch this space for details.
The choir is directed by Laurel Neighbour.
Doors open at 19:00
Tickets are £5. There will be a raffle of some very special items to help cover staging costs and to raise funds for Humanists UK.

Hiring a new Accompanist
We are looking for a new accompanist to start in February 2022. We’re looking for a strong piano accompanist for our weekly rehearsals and at performances who can enhance our learning and enjoyment of choral singing, but who also knows how to have fun and enjoys contemporary music. This position would suit someone who is looking to build on their skills and experience, with potential to step in as AMD with the support of a fantastic Musical Director.
